Opening Scripture

Beyond all question, the mystery from which true godliness springs is great:

He appeared in the flesh,
    was vindicated by the Spirit,
was seen by angels,
    was preached among the nations,
was believed on in the world,
    was taken up in glory.

1 Timothy 3:16 NIV

Songs:

What a beautiful name it is

by Brooke Ligertwood / Ben Fielding

You were the Word at the beginning
One With God the Lord Most High
Your hidden glory in creation
Now revealed in You our Christ

What a beautiful Name it is
What a beautiful Name it is
The Name of Jesus Christ my King
What a beautiful Name it is
Nothing compares to this
What a beautiful Name it is
The Name of Jesus

You didn’t want heaven without us
So Jesus, You brought heaven down
My sin was great, Your love was greater
What could separate us now

What a wonderful Name it is
What a wonderful Name it is
The Name of Jesus Christ my King
What a wonderful Name it is
Nothing compares to this
What a wonderful Name it is
The Name of Jesus
What a wonderful Name it is
The Name of Jesus

[Instrumental]

Death could not hold You, the veil tore before You
You silenced the boast, of sin and grave
The heavens are roaring, the praise of Your glory
For You are raised to life again

You have no rival, You have no equal
Now and forever, Our God reigns
Yours is the Kingdom, Yours is the glory
Yours is the Name, above all names

What a powerful Name it is
What a powerful Name it is
The Name of Jesus Christ my King
What a powerful Name it is
Nothing can stand against
What a powerful Name it is
The Name of Jesus

Communion

An opportunity to take communion this morning.

Ideas for prayer

Please pray for:

  • The provision of Personal Protection Equipment to those working in health care.  Pray that health workers will have everything they need to keep them and others safe from the virus.
  • For those who are currently working on a vaccine as more resources are being put into that vital work.
  • For those who are without a home at this time and for those running schemes to help them.
  • For foodbanks around the country as they provide their services to those in need.
  • For those who are self-isolating and for those who are living alone at this time.

Give thanks for the way Churches are reaching at in new ways through the internet and other communication methods.  Many are sharing how they have been able to reach out to a greater number people and to build deeper relationships in their current congregations through doing this.

Reading and Sermon

Song:

Amazing Grace (my chains are gone)

by Stan Roto Walker / Traditional / David Pritchard-blunt / Chris Tomlin / Louie Giglio

Amazing grace
How sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me
I once was lost, but now I’m found
Was blind, but now I see

‘Twas grace that taught my heart to fear
And grace my fears relieved
How precious did that grace appear
The hour I first believed

My chains are gone
I’ve been set free
My God, my Savior has ransomed me
And like a flood His mercy rains
Unending love, Amazing grace

The Lord has promised good to me
His word my hope secures
He will my shield and portion be
As long as life endures

The Earth shall soon dissolve like snow
The sun forbear to shine
But God, Who called me here below
Will be forever mine
