Opening Scripture
28 Do you not know?
Have you not heard?
The Lord is the everlasting God,
the Creator of the ends of the earth.
He will not grow tired or weary,
and his understanding no one can fathom.
29 He gives strength to the weary
and increases the power of the weak.
30 Even youths grow tired and weary,
and young men stumble and fall;
31 but those who hope in the Lord
will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles;
they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint.
Isaiah 40:28-31 NIV
Songs:
Morning has broken
Morning has broken like the first morning
Blackbird has spoken like the first bird
Praise for the singing
Praise for the morning
Praise for them springing fresh from the Word
Sweet the rain’s new fall, sunlit from heaven
Like the first dew fall on the first grass
Praise for the sweetness of the wet garden
Sprung in completeness where His feet pass
Mine is the sunlight
Mine is the morning
Born of the One Light Eden saw play
Praise with elation, praise every morning
God’s recreation of the new day

Be still and know
Ideas for prayer
Please pray for:
- Wisdom for lockdown easing. Many are talking of the possible easing of lockdown as it appears we are moving past the peak of the pandemic in this country. We all would love to have the ability to see friends and loved ones and to get out a bit more, but it is important that we do it at a sensible rate. Please pray for wisdom and patience at this time.
- The UK, that we may not have a second peak of the virus.
- The days after this time when there may be a need for more pastoral care among local people and keyworkers. Please pray that churches would have the resources they need to continue to shine the light of God’s love once this crisis is over.
- Children going to school in September who may have been out of their usual routine for quite some time
- Nations who may not yet have reached the peak of the virus. Pray that they may have the resources they need to cope.
Readings and Sermons
Song:
The Lord's my Shepherd
The Lord’s my shepherd, I’ll not want;
He makes me lie in pastures green.
He leads me by the still, still waters,
His goodness restores my soul.
And I will trust in You alone,
And I will trust in You alone,
For Your endless mercy follows me,
Your goodness will lead me home.
He guides my ways in righteousness,
And He anoints my head with oil,
And my cup, it overflows with joy,
I feast on His pure delights.
And though I walk the darkest path,
I will not fear the evil one,
For You are with me, and Your rod and staff
Are the comfort I need to know.
