Opening Scripture

And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.

Hebrews 10:24-25 NIV

Ideas for prayer

Chris Knott, a friend of HBC and founder of Starfish Malawi, was meant to be taking our service this Sunday, had we been meeting in the usual way.  He has, however, sent us some prayer requests from the Charity, which I have included below.

1. There have only been 4 deaths in Malawi due to coronavirus and the prayer is that numbers will not rise rapidly in a country where social distancing would be very difficult.

2. We pray for the opening of the new health clinic sometime in June serving 13,000 people, particularly at this crucial time.

3. We pray for the health of the Starfish  team.

4. We ask for the new presidential elections in July , which in the past have led to some disturbances in-country.

Reflective Song

Thank you to our pianist, Gill, who wrote this song over 32 years ago and who is being accompanied in it by her late husband Leon Hayward.

The song encourages us to give away what God has given us and in so doing we find He gives back to us in greater measure.

Lyrics:
“Hear my voice ringing out far and near

all the life (love, Joy, Peace) I am is yours to share,

give your life (love, joy, peace) away

and you will find the life (love, joy, peace) that’s mine.

This never ending life (love, joy, peace) is now yours to give and share”.

The Blessing (Philippians 4:19-20 NIV)

“[May God] meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus. To our God and Father be glory for ever and ever. Amen.”
